    Default Thoughts on this?

Had dinner with a friend tonight, we were talking about the lottery, and she brought up a question she heard the other day.

If you won the lottery, but you were only allowed to spend your money at 5 different businesses (stores, food chains, etc), which 5 would you pick and why?

Lame answer that doesn't really get the idea of the thread. That's like asking what you would do with a million dollars and then answer with "I would invest 70% of it in low risk bonds that will definitely make a return and give 30% to a hotshot stock broker to make high risk potentially high yield trades."

    Lame lame lame.

I see what you're getting at, but it doesn't follow the question, since you're not spending the money at the bank.

When we were talking about it, I answered AMEX. Because then that doesn't limit me to any one place, if I had say a Black AMEX.

Edit - Not to mention, even with 5 different banks that would only be a maximum of $1.25 million in FDIC coverage. Suppose you won the current $100 million lottery, that wouldn't really protect you.

Fair enough and i knew i was pushing the rules a bit with my answer. I know that if I were to win the lottery, i wouldn't be looking to spend it on some dumb shit like Volvos and couture clothing. If i were not allowed to spend the money by entering it into a bank, i would buy items IE real estate that i could sell and net cash. I want a retirement plan, not a set of bullshit material junk that i won't care about in 3 years. and Yes im fully aware of the fdic limits, but by putting it into 5 banks per the rules of the question it would have given me the most amount of protection

This is an awesome question chef

I honestly DO NOT KNOW the answer at this current time, HOWEVER, I know for a fact that wally mart with be on the list. Hey, it wasn't just a first job for me, it's the convenience that can't be beat.

I would also put Carmax on the list because I can pretty much get any car through them that I can fathom. This way I will NOT be limited to any one make.

I loled, not really at you though, you had people backing you 100% although you clearly went against the rules. Looking for loopholes, it's part of our culture.

Since you have spend it at 5 companies this is what I believe I would do. I would spend money on a nice dinner with my family and friends at a restaraunt of their choice. Then I would call 3 of my best vendors and order some nice stock items
The rest would be invested at JJSPEC Racing

first luxury car dealer i could find, that dealt in multiple luxury auto's, with ferrari's lambo's etc.

    walmart

biggest gun store i could find... or just go to Cabela's and do some serious ordering.

    Ducati

Lockheed martin to build me my own F22 complete with fucking PILOT!

To the idiot that answered (i'd deposit it all in5 banks) those aren't stores. The question wasn't, where would you deposit your money, it was where would you go spend it. Thus why no one else answered "i'd deposit it, or invest in this, blah blah blah". To those saying that was a smart answer, your reading comprehension is worse than that kids, and you're all doomed for extinction from stupidity.

actually, he did say businesses, and techinically banks are businesses, lol. although you are right, you can't actually "spend" money at banks...unless you buy stocks and bonds!? lol

To the idiot who called me an idiot, the rules don't state that the money must be spent at a "store." For that matter, Lockheed Martin doesn't have a "store" for purchasing a plane so you are defeated by your own logic. Furthermore if i were going to make fun of someone's reading comprehension, i would at least try and use correct punctuation

If I wasn't allowed to circumvent the rules by saying AMEX, then my 5 would be the following.

    - Costco
    - Asbury Automotive Group
    - Chipotle
    - Royal Caribbean
    - One of the airline companies
