    Default Raiders v. Chargers

Where in the world did this Raiders team come from? They are looking good so far, but they are not going far starting two rookie WR's with Jamarcus at QB. I love their throwback uniforms. The white jerseys with silver numbers looks so clean.

They're not going far with Jamarcus, period. Those rookie WRs will have better careers than Jamarcus will.

Wowww, horrible call just now overturning Murphy's TD catch. He had possession with both feet down, then as he hit the ground the ball came out on contact...

That call was some complete bull. I don't understand how they overturn that, but players dive into the endzone and lose the ball once they hit ground and it still counts as a TD. He had two feet down with possession and even when he hit the ground his arm was still under the ball when it began to move.

For catches in the endzone they basically have to stand back up with the ball for it to count... Retarded? Yes...

Raiders are lookin great this game! I started Mcfadden on my fantasy draft lol..

I can't believe I'm still up, but I've got some people watching the game here at my house. One of the guys here is a big Chargers fan and we're messing with him pretty bad right now. Once Rivers let out his d-bag side he almost lost it. The Chargers offense is looking really bad and so many people picked them to be in the Super Bowl.

Well, Murphy just made up for it

Edit: The Raiders are doing a terrible job stopping the pass right now, though...

Yup, and he just joined my fantasy team as well. Now that I see Oakland is going to pass the ball he will be good for my bench.

Well that sucks for the Raiders. 18 seconds left and they're down four now... The one time it really counted to stop the Chargers they couldn't do it.

Yeah it seems like Murphy will become a solid target for Jamarcus, I know it's early but it looks as if he might become more valuable than Heyward-Bey.

    Edit: Raiders lose, oh well.

It was a good game and I'm happy to see them fight hard. This should really help them in the long run because they now know they can hang with the big boys. A few plays here and there and they win.

It's because they have so much money tied up in him and drafted him first overall. The problem is the Raiders have never had a veteran QB there as a backup to help Jamarcus. He needs someone that can teach him the details of being an NFL quarterback. Before he passed I thought Steve McNair would have been a great tutor for him.

They had Jeff Garcia there before this season started but ended up cutting him. Supposedly he asked to be cut, but he could've been a great tutor for Jamarcus IMO.

Naw, Jeff wants to shine too much. He would never tutor a guy like Jamarcus because he wants to be the starter. That's why teams keep letting him go. He always wants to be "the man" instead of accepting that he's getting older and needs to get comfortable in a backup role. I know every player wants to play, but Jeff seems to have the attitude that playing is his only option. I really think that's why Philly let him go as well as Tampa Bay. I mean they would rather their new QB learn from Leftwich than him. In addition Jeff is not a drop back passer. He is more of a scrambler and he views the game much differently than most QB's because of that. Jamarcus is a drop back passer with a little mobility which is basically what McNair was during the later part of his career.

A lot of what he will learn also comes down to timing with his receivers. A lot of his balls float high because he relies on his arm strength to get the ball there because the timing is off. If the timing was right he could just throw the ball to a spot and know the receiver would be there to catch it. Quarterbacks with not as much arm rely heavily on timing and that's why guys like Warner have so much success.
