Has anybody ever thought about doing the tour de france?

Has anybody thought about doing the tour de france or has anyone even tried it? I have really been thinking about doing it, seriously. I am looking into the rules and requirements to race. Anyone else has any info. It seems like something that would be a true accomplishment just to be in the race and make it through all the stages. I have already started to get in shape a little to get back on a bike. I think training in the mountains would be best due to the thin air. I would help with the steep climbs in the race. What do you think?

You know you can't just sign up you have to be on a pro race team. The team has to qualify for the event.
