    Yeap, I would lawyer up, but honestly there won't be much you can do about it. Cities have nice laws in place to either make it impossible or incredibly hard to sue them.     It happens more than you think. Just go to a police maintenance shop and look at all the wrecked cars...there's one right next to the detention center in Gwinnett County. I had a female friend get hit by a female officer in Suwanee, about the same damage as the BMW and they paid the repairs and rental car.

    Glad you won man. Nice to know if I get hit by a cop that cant drive, I can get it taken care of. I was honestly scared for a minute. They say cops are highly trained drivers, but I've definitely seen otherwise. About a week ago, over by me, some Acworth cops came flying out of a restaurant parking lot and made a high speed U-turn in the rain. One cop pulled the drift off quite well, the other one ended up doing almost a 360 and going over the median into the other lane of traffic. Scary stuff

    Only special departments, state patrol, and government agencies have trained drivers. The rest of the patrol world can parallel park or using their signals during a driving test not much more extensive than a civilians.
