Default My friends "in the work" rally car

He picked this near bone stock CRX up on friday. Its a 90 DX automatic.
Only mods to the car where the ugly euros, 12" glass pack muffler and a CD player.
    After testing it off road

After the first rally mods. We installed stock 92-95 civic springs on the stock CRX shocks.

Next mods will be skid plate to protect the oil pan, fuel cell, roll cage, intake, multi point upgrade, exhaust, brush bar with 6" off road lights, and some other small things.

We took it up some logging roads and it was a blast. Scary as hell going 35mph down a one lane grave road into a blind corner sideways. The CRX handles the bumps, jumps and curves great.

Awesome! We built a semi rally Civic sedan same year. 35? Shit we were going 85 sideways on blind dirt roads lol. We have LONG dirt roads out here, no houses or civilization. We also has a Civic hatch we built for it, but wrecked it, bad, into a rock, then hit a tree lol. Ask how long it took to get that back out to a paved road for a tow.

    Have fun!

LOL We would have gone faster but the poor little 1.5 dual point and the the automatic trans is killing it. But we don't care its still a blast. We painted the hood black last night so it looks a little bit better.

Its going to be a fun project. I just hope it dosen't end on its roof like the last off road project we built. We took a 90(i think) blazer and cut the body in half and stuck 38" mud boggers on it. We slid off a trail and ended up upside down 20 feet in a ditch. The bad part it we can't get it out and its been there for 4 weeks. The ditch is a creek, you do the mah on that one...LOL

Why a CRX? At least a 1st gen Acura Integra. There are more of them available and parts are cheaper. My record is 96-98 on dirt/gravel...I tried and tried but couldn't get over 100 before running out of room to setup for a turn.

Next set of pics will be carnage pics. The owner was testing out some mods on a loging trail and came around a corner and hit a lifted dodge truck. The owner of the truck was drinking and didn't want to call the cops so my friend gave him $100 for a nex tire and helped him put on his spare.

I haven't got the pics yet but as soon as I do I will post them.
