    Smile Maserati GranCabrio unveiled

Maserati has released the first official images of their highly anticipated GranCabrio.

Essentially a convertible version of the sexy GranTurismo coupe, the new GranCabrio is the first four-seat convertible in Maserati's history. The beautiful Pininfarina styling carries over, while a new canvas roof provides open-air enjoyment. According to Maserati, "The GranCabrio enriches all five senses in a shared open-air experience, without sacrificing comfort and performance."

Featuring the longest wheelbase on the market, the GranCabrio should offer plenty of rear legroom. While official specifications are still pending, Maserati says "rear passengers are not merely supporting actors, but co-stars of the journey."

The only confirmed engine is the 323 kW (440 bhp) 4.7-liter V8 from the GranTurismo S, but an entry-level 4.2-liter V8 (with 405 bhp) may be offered in the future.

The Maserati GranCabrio will be officially unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, with sales starting in spring 2010.

The GranTurismo has really grown on me...don't like it so much with the roof off though.

I agree with this for the most part...but then I remembered this one. No thank you.

Maserati makes incredible cars right now though. Wonder why they don't fit normal manual transmissions in their cars though. I can understand the Quattroporte, but at least in the GranTurismo?

Same here and the ones I see are always heading up 575. I've seen a black quattroporte, a new sliver GT a couple of times with a black guy driving it, and just last week there was a woman in a previous gen black convertible grand sport.

I'll wait until I can see the car with the top up. Convertibles rarely look bad top down- but they can look GOD awful with the top up... (Z33 roadster anyone?) I would be surprised if the car can still look good with the top raised. These pictures aren't bad though.

That car makes me want to Jizz in my pants... My "roommates" might trade their quattroporte for a Gran turismo in the next year or so.

    Love Pininfarina lines... so much...

Fuck stance. Stance is for kids in skinny jeans with Justin Beiber haircuts. You don't need stance when you got swagger.
