i believe if under age 18 the person must wear a seatbelt in the front seat regardless. over 18 not requried in a truck and rear seats under 18 have to wear them over 18 does not. cars require seatbelts for front passengers at all times and i believe under 18 in the rear seat have to wear them aswell but over 18 does not. so all in all to answer your question over 18 in a truck no seatbelt required. under 18 required. this info was told to me by multiple county police officers as well as being pulled over in a car for not wearing a seatbelt on 4 occasions.

all vehicles produced past a certain date must have safety equipment such as seatbelts, its whether or not you have to use them is the question...and i believe in ga if you're over 18 or 21 you don't have to wear a seatbelt in a truck

I have always heard that if you are over 18 you dont have to wear a seatbelt in a truck, but then I was corrected by a cop one time when I said that so IDK. He was like "everyone has to wear a seatbelt at all times on GA roads, this isn't such and such(back in the day) year"

...he might have just been messing with me, but IDK.

§ 40-8-76.1. Use of safety belts in passenger vehicles

    (a) As used in this Code section, the term "passenger vehicle" means every motor vehicle designed to carry ten passengers or less and used for the transportation of persons but shall not mean pickup trucks, motorcycles, motor driven cycles, or vehicles equipped for off-road use, provided that the term "passenger vehicle" includes any sport utility vehicle and also includes pickup trucks for any occupant who is under 18 years of age.

    (b) Each occupant of the front seat of a passenger vehicle shall, while such passenger vehicle is being operated on a public road, street, or highway of this state, be restrained by a seat safety belt approved under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208.
Don't think you have to wear them if you're over 18, and if it was made before something like 1965 its not required to have them installed.

talked to an officer friend of mine today he said that trucks operators and passengers over 18 in the state of georgia do not require a seatbelt. he also said that law went into effect like a year ago.

No matter the rules, my experiance is you gotta where one in a 1/2 ton pick-up.

However, from what Ive been told and always worked for me is that if the vehicle is over a certain amount of weight aka 3/4 ton trucks, you do not have to wear one. Ive been pulled over numerous times without the belt on in my F250 and have not had any problems.
