not trying to start an e-battle here about what the greatest car in the world is. This is all my opinion. But Im just saying the Corvette isnt it. Its probably the most overrated car ever. light chassis and big engine. big deal. only thing that is remotely cool on that car for me is the transaxle and the dampers on the ZR1(I wouldnt ever put them on a racecar though). otherwise, its just another big block v8 crammed into a little car. this is all the production vettes. The Pratt and Miller GT1 and GT2 vettes are nowhere close to a production model so they will get the thumbs up from me. Even the GT and WC vettes that Ive worked on have been ok. Plus everyone knows that everything P&M touch turns into 24k gold.

with that said, I totally see why people like corvettes. its a decent looking car, clean lines, simple, looks fast. lots of power for fairly cheap. its an american icon, its been around forever. its a lot of the same reasons why the skylines are popular in japan. I just think that for my money, I want technology, I want to know that manufacturers are always moving forward and thinking about new things. I dont want the same old massive displacement pushrod engine that has been used forever. I'd be a lot more impressed if they made that power with 3/4 of the displacement.
I dont know, I could go on forever. but all that is just my opinion. you guys can think whatever you want about the car, but in my mind, I think GM should have taken a different direction with the corvette. It could have been a lot better. anyways my two cents. vette lovers flame away!

btw, I just watched a 10 minute vid of the vettes at Gingerman. they are looking pretty good. it should be good GT2 racing for the next five races. we will see how they do with a smaller motor for 2010.

You don't deserve to be my friend with that kind of talk dammit!!!!! Fired!

I am in love with the looks and the legacy of the car. I have wanted one since the 80's. All the rest is jibber jabber to me. I will admit that the owners are out of their minds with the prices they are asking for them right now and that's why we don't have one yet. So, you have a small point.

AND I'm not telling the secret yet.

This turned into an odd discussion. I cant remember the last time a GT class car was remotely similar to its production version in the last 20 years.

He mentioned that the GT2 cars are a different story. I think he was more so talking about the production version.

whats that supposed to mean? dont be mad you never got your turbo Civ-cord running. what are you driving these days anyways? jdm tyte 240?

oh and ej, didnt mean to jack your thread, the gt2s look good. I can tell they are getting plenty of testing in since Johnny O hasnt come raced go-karts in a long time.
oh, and some GT(especially gt3) cars are actual production based cars, not tubs. rare, but they are out there. I know of two in the ATL area.

It's not very JDM though. Just cheap (and kind of fast and VERY UGLY) since we already had a bazillion parts for it.

lol, thats because you asked for a screw gun. whats a screw gun? ive heard of a nail gun, or a drill,or a screwdriver.

a battle eh? are we getting out a boombox? Ive got some cardboard we can lay down for those hella long head spins. oh wait, a different kind of battle.

alright, is there a trivial pursuit motorsports edition? proly not, who comes up with the questions? It cant be Tracy since she will probably ask about screwguns.

I was referring to the premier classes.

From Group 5, Group B, IMSA GTX/GTO, GT1, GTS, and GT1 (Again), all these cars were not really production based. GT3 and GT4 are production based as you said.
