    I'll go ahead and agree with you on old beetles and golfs mkI's.... But nowadays you see people rusting out the hood on 90's+ BMWs, Jettas/GTIs, (insert euro here). Certain cars can pull it off. Some try, and most of the time in my eyes they fail -- Yet hoardes of nutswingers push me aside so they can circle jerk all over it.

    The rat rods are built, that VW looks like NOTHING other then a rusted out VW slammed to the ground...the American rat rods have stupid motors and look crazy. I like some VW's that go the rusted ratty route, but this example sucks ass.

    To the OP and Thread Jack, I love rat rods of and sort, although i have to agree most American rat rods are built, were as euro cars are just beat up bodies with decent motors. But great cars none the less, I hope I can own one some day..

    my uncle builds rats, there are alot of work put into ones like these to give them the correct look and not be pieces of crap like most of them you see. the ones posted are prime examples of well put together rods that were built to the theme and nailed it
