Assuming you have windows xp, go to control panel, power options, advanced tab, and then uncheck prompt for password when computer resumes from standby.

You might also want to go to control panel, display, screensaver tab and then make sure you don't have "on resume, display welcome screen" checked.

For Vista, go to control panel, power options, change plan settings, change advanced power settings, expand additional settings and under require a password on wakeup, choose the setting: "no"

For the screensaver password setting, go to the control panel, personalization, screen saver, and make sure "on resume, display login screen" is unchecked.
