thanx guys...i chose the vr6 because it has more power out of the box...it's also smoother...also, it was the only one they had haha...i was lookin for a 1.8t just b/c of the turbo and i wanted to hear the sound of my BOV...but i just chose to go with the vr6 b/c its stronger out of the box

Mod for mod the 1.8T will always be faster.

at least the Vr6 sounds better though with an exhaust. w00t!

    Enjoy the ride....

thanks...yea i've been hearing that a lot about the exhaust...people say they sound badass...and actually yea modding the 1.8t will be faster up to a certain amount...like after $3000 or somewhere in that range its better to mod the vr6 b/c you'll be getting more power...so for cheaper mods, yea the 1.8t will get more power...then after that, the vr6 will take the edge again

    Not hardly.

1.8T with a stage 3+ kit will eat a VR6 all day long.

Check out http://forums.vwvortex.com and for all the info you could possibly want.

^ ya speaks for its self... $$$ for $$$ 1.8t all the way, more power for less money. w/ the same amount of money put into both the 1.8t will come out on top, hands down. its turbo, unless you turbo the vr6 its not going to be faster than a moded 1.8t, and if you did turbo the vr6 that same about of money in a 1.8t would still make it even faster.

base price of a GTI vr6 is around 22k the GTI 1.8t is 19k. 3k $$$ differerance, for lighter weight and -20hp. So you take that 3k difference in sticker price buy every bolt on including chip, and you will probably be around 249hp. Now that both cars are at 22k price you take another 4k and dump into both to make the vr6 turbo, now you have 4k spare to build the 1.8t. vr6 still has no chance.

Ive never lost to a VR6, I am not sayin I couldnt. I have alot of "basic" mods, but still run stock snail. If you boost a VR6 (24 v especially) they are monsters, but a stg 3+ 1.8T (same basic $ ) will still hang.
Honestly, there is no bad choice, congrats.
