    Default Nice car with problems

so my friend bought an 94 integra gsr for $1800. This morning, we drove all the way to macon (from winder) to pick this car up. The car had not been driven for a year so it sat there. However, b4 it was parked by the owners, the car's transmission was replaced and besides that it has some mods on it...

the problem is the car cannot rev over 4k, so he cannot drive faster than 60mph...CEL also..
now alot people have told us numerous things. the owners said it is the crank pos. sensor. since then we have heard stuff like o2 sens, map sens, TP sens..

the car's batt has been relocated to the trunk and its been hissing sulfuric acid..LOL..and its a very old battery so we have to push the car to get it started...

anyway...iif anyone on here has had similar problems like the car not being able to rev past 4k, please lemme know...

    AND WHERE IS PAUL VUONG?
    friend needs him!!

geezus that thing sounds like a POS, sounds like your friend paid too much for it. I honestly wouldnt know where to begin, it sounds like it could be any number of things...I would certainly start by doing a compression test (which he should have done before he even bought it) that will give you a good idea how good of shape the internals are....if the compression test is very weak. Then I say fuck all the other issues you have because he needs a new motor anyway, then you can go from there. you may luck out and have it be the sensors (a good haynes manual or GOOGLE BITCH will tell you step by step how to test your sensors)

and and ohmmeter will help you and you will need the manual OR THE MOTHERFUCKING INTERNET to tell you the proper ohm range for OEM specs. I flat out refuse to find it for you

    good luck

ok, well...you said the car cant rev past 4k???? my teg couldn't do that once, right when i bought it. turns out i had the wrong ecu......could be why you are throwing codes as well. just a thought

what ecu do you have in it?

since we got it...they said it started doing that some time after they changed the transmission...which is a b16 si tranny....
dont think it could be the wrong ecu since the engine is stock....

there is a noticable difference in the short/long flashes. there will be no mistaking the difference

is there a noticeable pause between the long and short flashes, or is the pause between the long and short flashes the same as the pause between all the short flashes. i would be willing to bet it's code 4 and 9 as was stated earlier. both are for crank positioning and cylinder positioning. if that's the case you're in limp mode and the car is trying to save itself from you reving it when it doesn't know how/when/why to fire.
