Default Quick question about tag renewal

I have the tag renewal notice, but I already sold the car. Do I just need to turn that tag in? Do I still have to pay the renewal and ad valorem?

if you sold the car you are supposed to turn in the tag... or you can just send them a letter and maybe a BOS stating that you sold the car.

KK, I sold the car last month.. renewal due the 5th of this month. Never turned the tag in, but I'm still under the 30 day limit. Unless my 240 passes emissions tomorrow I guess I'll just turn in the tag.

All you have to do is turn in the tag unless you plan on transfering the tag to another vehicle. Simple. No need to show bill of sale =]

^ you only need to show you sold the car if your keeping your tag... i have all of my tags i don't ever turn them in, i just send a bill of sale and a letter and they stoped sending me the request for the tag.
