    Default Tire Recall; my wreck

I recently did a google search for the tires I had a blow out with, Futura brand tires. There was a recall for my model, the Radial 2000 LTE. Does this mean I could be entitled to some compensation? My car was wrecked very badly and I needed money as I just had liability, so I parted the car, but I still have the wheels and car body. Will parting the car affect this if I am entitled to compensation?

    Thanks

depends on when the recall took place. There is a time limit on how long you have to get your replacements.

i highly doubt it, what was the recall for? You might be entitled to a pair of tires, but not monetary reimbursement for the car.

Several factors have to be taken into consideration

    Tire Tread
    Tire Wear
    Tire PSi

    etc.

^^^ this is very true, they will put if off on anything else before accepting fault on a car wreck.

I read they had soft sidewalls, lost air pressure rapidly, and/or blow apart at interstate speeds.

I've also read Cooper (the maker) has been settling outside of court to avoid any attention.

Of course all this is just from reading around on the internet, so who knows if anything I've read is true.

Damn, I could see some compensation. Tell them you just want compensation for the value of your car. Better than trying to bleed them dry over a long period. They'd more likely agree (if there would be any sort of case against them) to pay out 4k.

I've contacted Cooper tire and have made a claim with them.

Waiting to hear from their legal department.

Update: Received a package from Cooper tire. A couple claim forms and a pre-paid postage for my tire so they can inspect it. Contacting my lawyer tomorrow.

My lawyer is looking into all the info and seeing if we have anything. Possible to get compensation for the vehicle and injuries.

No big change from where we were, but I'll keep it updated as promised.
