I have to disagree.....it used to have some downfalls back in the day, but it has since been made superior to a live axle. (Yes axle tramp and IRS Mustangs shredding there IRS aside) They have come a long way and GM has got plenty or Corvette experience with IRS under there belt to draw on.Originally Posted by Josh...
Otherwise F-1 cars and race cars would run Ford solid rear ends vs IRS![]()

Mauraders are sweet :0)
Nemisis, a solid axle will work great on a racetrack no doubt. But for anything other than smooth as glass surfaces the IRS will be more comfy and quicker in the real world driving conditions. Those pic's are the shit BTW![]()
Awww thats not too bad. The first run of a cars production life always has little problems to fix. One car has conked out because of a bad battery cable and stress cracks showed up on a SS front nose piece after 155 mph high speed runs, and they say it has since been replaced and fixed. The brake thing IS freaking strange though. Still not enough to deture me from buying oneOriginally Posted by Chevrolet

they are great, reliable, strong, and the track pack Mustang is faster around a racetrack than a Camaro or a Challanger. Half of the cars Ive owned have had a solid rear axle. Just to say IRS is crap is a bit harsh and not true. Both will have there strong points and downfalls and so far, the Mustang is the only car to perfect it to a level it's still competitive with modern drivetrain. So hats off to Ford for that. Merica bitches!!!!Originally Posted by Josh...
