Gemballa Tornado 750 GTS

Love it or hate it, I'd rock it while roasting all four.

Gemballa has created some pretty over-the-top Porsche models in the last few years, but the Tornado 750 GTS takes the cake for overall visual impact and completely unnecessary amounts of horsepower. Using the Cayenne Turbo as a base, Gemballa starts by hacking off an incredible 550+ pounds thanks in part to carbon-fiber bodywork that provides increased downforce and vents air to the front brakes as well as away from the engine compartment. The turbocharged V8 has been upgraded in typical Gemballa fashion - displacement has been increased to 5.0-liters, upgraded pistons and connecting rods have been added, and a racing turbocharger provides additional boost. The result is 750 horsepower and 775 lb-ft torque, 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.3 seconds, and a top speed of 186 mph. Perhaps even more interesting is that all of this mechanical mayhem can be routed exclusively to the rear wheels if the customer so requests it. Astounding performance yes, but with looks only Darth Vader's mother could love and a €400,000 price tag (around $525k USD), we're guessing Gemballa may have a tough time filling orders for its planned production run of fifty cars. I mean, Id rock it but I would never buy it.. I rather have me a classy cayenne turbo and tastefully mod it myself..

Gemballa just isn't what they used to be.. And even then they weren't anything special.. And even then they didn't have much better taste..

Oh and I would buy me a little house with the money I save from buying it and modding it myself..

I like it as well.

Gemballa has really shown itself as a hit or miss brand. Sometimes the designs are horrific and other times inspiring. This one is outrages but a lot of the customized Cayennes are like that.

Fawkin' wild. Not for me, but definitely crazy. Lots of people do some really crazy stuff with Cayennes.

The RUF Dakara is an interesting modified Cayenne.

I like the rear on the Rinspeed Chopster too.

Granted do I love the powerplant? Absolutely I love the interior but i don't like most of them. Personally if I wanted a fast SUV I'd totally grab a G55

I think the Dakara looks pretty nice except for the bodywork towards the rear...looks a bit bloated. The Rinspeed is very cool, but the front end looks to be a bit overdone. Overall it's nice though.

I didn't even know the Cayenne was available with a manual until I saw my uncle's friend's Cayenne V-6 with a six-speed.

I'd still rather have a Touareg with the V-10 TDI for $15,000 less.

Clearly you don't care what you drive, you have a saab, and as far as purchasing either of these vehicles i would never do it. however if someone said hey here's 2 vehicles which one do you want for free? you'd be an idiot to choose anything but the porsche. unless you've got down syndrome. I could care less about image, this gemball porsche just happens to be a million times nicer than the VW and im sure in the long run much more reliable

I'll defend Porsche in almost any context but i also realize that VW Group's new diesels are the best in the world. That is why Porsche's Cayenne's will feature them in the coming years.
