You can run from cops in anything, just have to have the right circumstances..

I've only seen cops go after guys on bikes a couple times. They are usually going pretty fast already and chasing them would only make the situation more dangerous. If one biker wrecks, unless he/she hits another car, its only one person. Start chasing that person and the chance of injuring more people becomes likely.Originally Posted by Turbo Terrance
Running in a car however, would be more difficult. I personally won't even consider it.
No, from personal experience this sufficed:Originally Posted by Turbo Terrance

Again, under the right circumstances, you can do it in anything..
I was in the passenger seat furious!! The person who did it is on IA, not going to say who.. He can chime in if he wishes.. This car literally goes 0-60 in 15 seconds..
hahhahahah i just got backin another disco, comfy as hell but my god they are SLOW AS FUCKOriginally Posted by Frög

running from the cops= not worth it. sure you may get away sometimes, but if youre caught youre fucked. dont do anything dumb to start with and you dont have to worry.
and i think your friend is lying to you. ls/vtecs arent that fast.
Here is the deal with the cops.
Most cops cars, not all but most, have just an ECU Tune. Which makes maybe 50hp extra. but it really dosen't matter because that is automcally cancelled out due to they care a 1000lbs+ of extra equitment in there cars. This inculdes the Chargers, Impala, Crown vics and one other one that I can't think of. But they do have other vechicle made for chases, there usually impounded vechiles that there owners ditch. So that opnes the door to alot more cars. So that where you get the mustangs, 300zx, Vettes, and other bullshit. But they are rarely used though. The point is that most cop cars are slow.
But there are alot of them so it is not wise to run in your custom painted civic or widebody body supra, or any modded body car. because though car stick out like a sore thumb. If your going to run (which is dumb) you need know your area fairly well. If anything becomes to Serious they will pull out the chopper. My friend goodluck out running that.

that being said, a lighter, smaller vehicle could possibly take corners faster, stop faster, and take off faster.... thereby enabling it to get away. Add RA1 racing compound tires and a very good driver and you have a good chance. You must also know your streets very well, don't want to end up in a dead end now do we.![]()

my friend had a retired 97 vic from the police, and ran a 16.1 in the quarter. His car was kept the exact same way a normal cop car is as far as mods, just no lights, cage, etc. His parents were both cops, so he got a deal. Too bad my little civic put him in his place lol
Ballin' on a Budget
Cop crown vics have a "tune" that helps the already slow car to be somewhat decent with the extra 750-1000lbs of lights, cage, reinforced doors, brush bars, reinforced axles, reinforced rear suspension, electronic and computer equipment plus the gear to power all of that nonsense and the typical 200lb load of equipment they carry in the trunk (Spare vest, entry shotgun, depending on the cars this obviously varies, often includes first aid kits galore with plenty of extra stopped-on-the-roadside goodies.)
Crown Vics are slow. Chargers are slow. Impalas are slow. All of them are gas-guzzling hogs that cost ridiculous amounts to keep in running condition as well. If the police forces would switch to smaller diesel powered sedans or hatchbacks (Jetta TDi would be a decent start) and also force the officers to pay for at least a portion of the maintenance on the cars, we'd see the overall cost drop 20% just between fuel and maintenance alone, if not much more since the cops would actually have an incentive to take care of them.
Edit: And a Jetta TDi might be harder to run away from in a chase too. Crown Vics are pigs, even with Interceptor suspension.
That's absolutely retarded. Why not firefighters and medics too then? Not all of them are in perfect condition either. And if you drive a company car, then fix it too. Dumb idea.Originally Posted by Kaiser

Doesn't do shit if it can;t handle worth shit. You know the new chagers suck at handling. I am just staying the whole Charger and challenger thing is a complete waste of money. Really I would be fine if they choose a car that would really serve and protect. Example the G8
