Isn't those the guys who rebuilt the 917 on youtube?
Beauty about Porsche's, don't change something that works, but instead perfect it.. Chassis are so similar from generation to generation..

Call me crazy but I'd do a 996/997 GT3 body conversion on a earlier model 911 and then put an LS6 in it.

Never seen that before. I wonder how close the weight of the LS is to the boxer.Originally Posted by speedminded
They compare the cast iron LT1 with aluminum heads as being the same weight as a 930 Turbo engine so you know the aluminum LSx is considerably lighter. I knew a guy that had an LT1 in a 911 in the 80's. Renegade first started putting them in 911's in '82.Originally Posted by EJ25RUN

"Reduced weight of the LS-1 is also a HUGE advantage over the "big" 911 motors. Weighing less than a completely dressed 3.0L NA motor, the LS-1 has turbo performance with much less than turbo six weight. With less weight in the rear and more power under your right foot, you can see why a converted 911 is so much fun to drive."
Sounds like an LT1 in this one (I'm trying to find good driving vids of an LSx in one and not just sitting around idling)

The "993" in these pics is actually a '75 911 with a '98 Twin Turbo S widebody conversion and also has a V8 conversion under the decklid...

I hate this V8 into a Porsche talk. Porsche engines are beautiful, sound beautiful, and ad to the cars fun. I hate the mentality of swapping a V8 into anything these days.
Yessssss 993 sexiest Porsche's I think. Porsche IS or is tied for my favorite car company in the world. Ever since I was like 4 I have had Porsche toys, posters, etc lol.
