I was able to attend the Indy Car race at AMS a few years ago, and, frankly, after the first 15 minutes or so,(once we got used to the speed and sound) I was bored silly. The only thing that salvaged the evening for me (and my friend) is that they opened the pits after the race, and we were able to spend quite some time with one of the crews, discussing car preparation and setup, etc. They even gave us a copy of the rule book. But the racing? It was boring as all holy hell! And I went in thinking that Indy Car was WAY more interesting than NASCAR.
Give me natural terrain RoadRacing any day...ALMS, AMA, WERA at Road Atlanta, Barber, Roebling Road, Laguna Seca, etc.
Just sayin'.
