17' Bass Boat - Hydra Sport 1987 Need to Sell ASAP!!!
Up for sale is my 1987 Hyrda Sport 17' Bass Boat complete with dual axle trailer with a spare tire as well as a 24 lb thrust trolling motor and a 175 Mercury motor.
Cons: The motor is shot and my neighborhood now has a clause where we can no longer keep a boat on our property unless it is out of sight from out side. So those are the reasons as to why I am selling the boat. I am looking to get a little 14' boat so that I can store it in my garage. The boat was recently taken to a marine mechanic and i was told that the motor was dead. Compression was all over the place and the oil pump was gone which lead to the pistons riding out of sync and tearing up the walls of the motor. Just need to find a new or refurbished motor for this hull and you are ready to go. None of the on board electronics work. I bought this boat used and they didn't work to begin with. Steering cable needs to be replaced. I was told that it would cost $250 to replace.
Pros: The hull is still in great shape consistent with its age. No holes, no leaks. This would be the perfect first boat for any family. Just need to get a new motor and hit the lake. Trolling motor still works like a champ. New bucket seats and front fishing seat have been replaced. All in all this is a great project boat or a starter boat if you can find a refurbished motor somewhere. The hull was appraised at $2,500; the trolling motor at $50; the trailer at $500; and the 4 arm prop of the motor at $250. The boat also comes with a brand new Bass Pro Shops "Trailer-able" boat cover.
