    Default 72 in a 55

What is the fucking point of writing this ticket other than generating revenue? In 10 years I've received two of these and the second one came yesterday..

Every damn time the solicitor ends up dropping it to 68 so it wont go on record but the fine is upheld. If anyone goes down South Fulton Pkwy, know that Union City must be strapped for cash and they're being asses about the speed limits.

Honestly, I wouldn't be too surprised for getting a ticket when I'm going 15+ over the speed limit. Pretty automatic ticket if you get caught.

i got basically the same ticket in laurens county on I-16. 88 in a 70. i dunno, i think its enough over to warrant a ticket, honestly. I didn't go to court for that one because it was 3 hours where I live, and even though it was $282 (!!!!), I'd have to take off all day for work (and lose all that money), wake up at like 4AM to go, etc... just wasnt worth it.

No offense, but you wouldnt be a bit irritated with 70 in a 55? On a 4+ lane highway that is going with the flow of traffic, which I was but happened to be in the left lane.

A lot of local governments are strapped for cash, not saying that its right he pulled you over though. Sure you were speeding, but I'm sure it wasn't anything dangerous. The University System of GA added on a $100 fee this semester because they have a budget deficit.

Yeah I pretty much understand that which is why I didnt gripe about the ticket at the time. Where he got me there have been at least 2 cars pulled over at a time on my way to and from work.

As long as I can talk it down to 68 I'm not too concerned about it, still its a waste of my time.. if they want donations just put up a big ass billboard or something.

Not sure how much the ticket is, I'll have to get the court date moved back since I got military training till May.

Speeding is speeding, dangerous or not. I travel S. Fulton Pkwy nearly every day and I know those police sit right over the hill under the bridge just before the Costco DC. People fly up and down that road with no regard to whomever else is on it. I'm glad they sit there, myself. Later, QD.

It wouldn't surprise me that they are ticketing more people to generate revenue, but like QD said it is still speeding.

just stop whining and obey the speed limits and none of these would've happened. simple as that. u r probably going to neg rep and shit but its the truth. u broke the rules and now have to pay for the consequences, simple as that.

and i just read that u understand. so i dont feel like deleting it. just go do what u need to do for the ticket and drive slower next time. it really isnt worth it.

its everywhere man. i saw 2 GSP on 75 south when i was out test driving a company truck. After work i saw 4 APD motorcycle cops waving ppl to pull over on the on ramp from howell mill i think. the one where the hov lane comes onto 75 by the wall. Theres a hanging sign that says hov lane but by the time u see it ur already turning. they rack up right there around rush hour.

I also went to court last week and everybody was getting their speeds and violations reduced or thrown out but atleast had to pay 85 dollars court cost. NOBODY left without alteast paying 85. I wouldve been happy to pay $85, 3 times.

Why do yawl keep saying quit crying? hes not crying, just saying it must be pretty bad since ppl are getting tickets for petty offenses. Do yawl not have anything else to do? low post count?

I honestly have to say i never do the speed limit. i do an average of about 10 over. Why? becuase when i do put the effort towards doing the speed limit ppl seems to not look before changing lanes or i happen to hang in their blind spot too long not really thinging hey i should (speed up) to get out of their blind spot. Ive had to avoid more accidents doing the speed limit than i do going an average of 10 over. ill take a 10 over ticket before an accident.

don't mean to be an ass but who's fault is that? i would think that the person who t-boned her had the right of way

    but yea speeding is speeding.......lol

GA's in a recession people are moving out cuz the place is filled up. lolololz. But yes, speeding is bad as many cant handle nor do the people on our highway respect speed. So without real training this will always happen, we all will continue to be punished for going from point A to point B quickly.

But we all must pay and be looked down upon because those that do not respect speed and life and those that do not respect those that DO speed. We all must pay

Depends where I am. Some roads if I know there are cops a lot I won't go above 5 over. Interstate in a 75 or 80 I will go 90 or keep up with traffic. I mean 72 in a 55 though depends what road, but that's fast..

Yea it depends on the actual comfort level of the driver as well (disregarding all other BS that could POSSIBLY be thrown at me by anybody within this IA network)
Interstate speed should be handled the proper way and drivers on that said link between states should understand what the lanes means and the speeds within that lane. Segmenting lanes would be nice with limited access to that said lane at that speed should be maintained (like an HOV) I would even pay for that access so I can get from place to place fast without over exaggerating speeds or dealing with law enforcement for no good reason just to delay my trip.

It'd be fine even to be charged to enter and leave and return for a nominal fee to help those states with revenue (no I'm not talkin about fukin tolls, just take my plate number and mail me a surcharge or something.) That'd be fine with me and I'm a heavy traveler.

In my vast experience with speeding, cops will leave you alone (for the most part) if you keep your speed less than 15 over and you're really safe if you keep it to 10 over. At 17 over, dude, you're going to get stopped and most likely get a ticket everytime.

reason the officers right the ticket for ur speed and not 68 is bc the fine is higher

Not completely true. Yes, the fine is higher but that's not why they don't typically write you for 13 over. Most cops start writing at 15 over because GA law says that's when speeding starts acruing points on your license. If GA lawmakers say that 14 over is not that bad, they figure, why waste your time on anything less. Also, there are so many other people going more than 15 over out there, why miss one of those writing someone for 13 over.

ive done my share of speeding so i cant complian. but im just a little irritated by some of the laws that are out. i mean, ppl get killed, robbed, raped, bullied, and everything else on a daily basis. Some ppl actually wake up knowing that they are going to shat on today. But instead of looking into that kinda stuff (true enough you cant get all of it) ppl get dragged to court bc they were running late to an interview after not working in 4 months, or some idiot was going 20 below the speed limit and decided to go faster when u tried to pass them, or you just spent 8 grand on ur car and wanted to see if the car pulled like u hoped ur 8 grand paid for while on the way home. That last one was a joke but u get my point. breaking the law is breaking the law.
