    Default Great Month for MMA

Mark your calendars boys, January is going to be DOPE! My picks in bold.

    First up,

    UFC 93 - January 17th

Henderson is over rated IMO, looking for Franklin to knock his ass out! I hope Coleman roid rages on Shogun, cause I think Coleman's hilarious. Looking for another slick sub from Palhares, cause I have no idea why Horn is still fighting these days. Marcus Davis vs Chris Lytle will probably be fight of the night IMO.

    Rich Franklin Vs. Dan Henderson

    Mark Coleman Vs. Mauricio Rua

    Jeremy Horn Vs. Rousimar Palhares

    Marcus Davis Vs. Chris Lytle

The rest I don't know well at all to comment on the fights.

    Eric Schafer Vs. Antonio Mendes

    Tomasz Drwal Vs. Ivan Serati

    Tom Egan Vs. John Hathaway

    Dennis Siver Vs. Nate Mohr

Affliction: Day of Reckoning January 24th
Sweet card top to bottom pretty much. I like both Fedor and Andre, but have to stick with the guy who could armbar God, Fedor. Looking for Josh to destroy Gilbert, because that guy is a bitch. Same thing for Sobral, because Sokoudjou is all hype. Keep an eye on Kiril, some are saying he's the baby Fedor, kids got a lot of potential in the future. Albert Rios vs Anthony Duarte should be a nice scrap too. Everything on the undercard will be shown on HDNet.

    Fedor Emelianenko
    vs. Andrei Arlovski

    Josh Barnett
    vs. Gilbert Yvel

Renato Sobral vs. Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou

    Matt Lindland vs. Vitor Belfort

    Chris Horodecki vs. Dan Lauzon

    Paul Buentello vs. Kiril Sidelnikov

Vladimir Matyushenko vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira

    Jay Hieron
    vs. Jason High

    Mark Hominick
    vs. LC Davis

    Albert Rios vs. Antonio Duarte

    Brett Cooper vs. Patrick Speight

    WEC January 25th

Hard to predict a lot of these fights since I don't know pretty much any of those people, but WEC always puts on great cards, so they should be good fights regardless.
    Jamie Varner Vs. Donald Cerrone

    Urijah Faber Vs. Jens Pulver

    Danillo Villefort Vs. Mike Campbell

    Ed Ratcliff Vs. Anthony Njokuani

    Edgar Garcia Vs. Hiromitsu Miura

    Dominick Cruz Vs. Ian McCall

    Scott Jorgensen Vs. Frank Gomez

    Blas Avena Vs. Jesse Lennox

    Charlie Valencia Vs. Seth Dikun

    UFC 94 - January 31st

Going to be a WAR between BJ and GSP, potential FOTY imo. Nate Diaz and Clay Guida should be dope as well.

    Georges St-Pierre Vs. BJ Penn

    Lyoto Machida Vs. Thiago Silva

    Stephan Bonnar Vs. Jon Jones

Karo Parisyan Vs. Dong Hyun Kim

    Nate Diaz Vs. Clay Guida

    Jon Fitch Vs. Akihiro Gono

    Manny Gamburyan Vs. Thiago Tavares

    Chris Wilson Vs. John Howard

    Jake O'Brien Vs. Christian Wellisch

    Matt Arroyo Vs. Dan Cramer

A guy on the Sherdog forums put together a little list of Fedor's accomplishments. The guy is not human! lol

    - Wamma HW belt
    - Pride HW belt
    - Pride Grand Prix tournament
    - Rings king of kings tournament
    - Rings world class tournament

All while finishing 75% of his opponents.
A current 24 fight win streak
With 21 victories in the first round
4 victories in the first minute
12 victories in the first 2 minutes

No other fighter in all MMA has any where near the list of accomplishments.

Mind you Fedor did this while being injured 2 times due to injuries he sustained to his hand during a fight. And while top fighters backed out of fights. One of which back out on multiple occasions.

Dude, I've given up on IA when it comes to mma. These fuckers don't care about anything other than their hondas and their cartoon network.

    Fedor is the man.

Most of your picks are pretty well dead on what I would have chosen, but like you said a few I don't know well enough to make a decision. I haven't really gotten to watch/pay attention to MMA in a good while, I'd like to get back into it.

The only pick of yours I would change would be Diaz vs. Guida. I have a feeling that crazy bastard is going to pull it off.

And Arlovski is definitely one of my favorite fighters ever, but Fedor isn't going to be beaten until he goes senile and is bound to a wheelchair, in which case he would still have a shot at beating anyone.

Mark Hominick is out of the fight for Affliction, he got pneumonia. Sucks too, cause that fight should've been decent.

BTW, Bao Quach is now the replacement for Hominick. He's fought over in Shooto, WEC, and at some ShoXC events. He's got a lot of experience and is riding quite a win streak.

Bolo got owned by JCVD, and JCVD is scared of Fedor. Therefore Fedor > Bolo, and pretty much anyone else.

Talked to BJ a few weeks ago. He's ready as ever and wants to "hurt GSP bad" as those were the exact words he said to me. Never heard him so focused before, and that is a VERY scary thing.

Don't agree with the Henderson/Franklin pick at all.

I as well believe that Henderson will beat Franklin.

So, 2/4 of my predictions were right, oh well. Fairly lackluster card overall though.

Well I was right on 5/8 fights tonight. Great card though.

    - Fedor, still the king, w00t!
    - Vitor, sick KO!
    - Babalu answered my prayers. So glad he got Sokoudjou, that guy is an overrated POS.
    - Buentello looked really good, props to him.

2/9 right, good thing I didn't bet any money lol.

Weird that Machida's fight of all people didn't go to decision. With the exception of that and GSP/Penn, 8 fights went to decision, wtf?
