    WELL, I HAVE A BRAND NEW IN THE BOX SONY PS3 WITH A 320GIG HDD AND IS LOADED WITH THE NEWEST SONY UPDATE 2.53.... THE DRIVE IS WD THAT RUNS @ 7200RPM AND I WILL GIVE A 3 YR WARRANTY ON THE DRIVE AND CAN GET A WARRANTY FOR THE PS3 AS WELL BUT AN EXTRA, PM FOR DETAIL ON THE WARRANTY...     why would you buy a modded ps3? HONESTLY? second this ps3 even if its "from Sony with 360 gigs" i can guarantee that it is in no way shape or forum backwards compatible .... so why would you want it? $500= rip off!!!

    Are you a dumb ass?? 160gb in stores cost $500 not including tax and this is a upgraded ps3 with a 360gb hard drive. IMO this is a great deal and your a dumbass.

    the 160 gig sells for 500 yea but it is not backwards compatible so none of the ps2 games work for it.... and its a modded ps3..... no warranty, and since the system is so sensitive i would not be supprised if it crashes soon! i sir am not the dumbass i wouldn't buy a modded piece of equipment esp. electronics, second Sony doesn't recognize any memory past 300 gigs and truly i would not spend this kind of money on a ps3 that doesn't work for any of my old games and has been tampered with by some random guy.... as well as the fact that having "350"gigs is truly unneccisary unless you want 100+ movies 200000 pics and like 75000 songs.... so to call me a dumb ass for not buying a piece of equipment that has been tampered with for 500 dollars.... i think i'm sensable not dumb!

    Some 80gb models WILL run PS2 games. IF you have 4 USB ports - it'll run PS2 games. If it has 2 - it will not.

    u know u could just go buy like the smallest ps3 now and buy a new hard drive and put it in ur self u can even get a 500g for only 100 bucks a newegg.com

    everyone needs to keep in mind that your sony warranty is voided due to adding a new hard drive. you will have to pay 180 to get it fixed if it breaks. I had the same thing with my 60gb ps3. it broke and i had to pay them 180 to get it fixed, but they did send me a new 60gb ps3. gl with the sale though still a good item to have if you want to run a linux/ps3 hybrid

    500GB is 110 SHIPPED. I'm gonna put that into my comp and put that 80gb on this laptop (which has a 40gb now).

    I may be wrong but when i talked to sony reps for playstation they said not to mess with the hd or it will void the warranty on the ps3. there word not mine just stating what they told me because i was gonna trash the 60gb hard drive and upgrade but they said not to do it.

    Most of those reps will say anything to make their job easy. They just didn't want to explain how to swap it - so they said it'll void the warranty. Forget them, they dont have your best interest in mind.

    Besides, the swap will only take you 2 minutes - and there are video tutorials on youtube.

    I'm waiting for the WD Scorpio Black to come out in 500gb format.

    Does anyone wanna buy a PS3 at least....? Cause I'm lost in all this nonsense... Your warranty will not be voided b/c of upgrading your HDD, they(Sony) Wants you too incase you have lots of games and media... Each new game you put into your PS3 system, a portion of the game will be uploaded onto the HDD so that games will load much much faster from now on... and shit if you worry so much about warranty, Ill sell warranty as well, written and everything... but for retail price.... pm for details
