Default Is Gran Turismo 5: Prologue worth getting?

Is it? And is this the final version of Part 5 with just having downloads to it? Just wondering if it's worth going ahead and getting. Later, QD.

Now I'd like to read from people that do NOT own a 3rd gen Eclipse.

I think so. It is the only game i have and i still play it often. GT5 is coming around 2010 and this is really a quality product for what it is. 74 cars which is more than the last need for speed.

The interior shots are what make the game for me. Incredibility accurate and every dial works properly. And just like i updates in another thread, you get GT TV to watch free and pay per view movies.

The only things i can say negative are that it isn't as realistic as a racing sim like rfactor or anything made by Simbin. But, those do get boring to me because the graphics are no near as impressive as GT.

It is by no means perfect and Polyphony Digital knows that but it is incredible for what it is imo.

I got it but I don't play it any more. It doesn't take long to see all the game has to offer. The game is fun and all but there just is not much content, however that is reflected in the price.

As for it being final with downloads later I have no idea. I just look at as a big demo to hold you over before the final product later.

Here are some new pictures of the GT office and cars they are doing. I'm sure the cars in the picks are a Mercedes C63 and a Fiat 500. Could be released in Spec 4 update.

Says they are sound testing that one. Maybe they have another car and just want the exhaust note from the 4.3 V8. And this is GT, expect everything. Since GT is working with Ferrari now and they own Maserati, expect Maserati's entire line up to show in GT5. Kaz has strongly hinted at Porsche as well without actually saying the name.

I was estatic when they said that Ferrari agreed. If they could get Porsche in on it as well .I just hate the old Maserati's. The new ones though :idb:

    Let's remember pre Chrysler Maserati.

450S, Birdcage, 250F and the original Quattroporte. That is if you like cars from the 50's and 60's (the era where they could threaten Ferrari)

    btw...Sorry QD for Off topic.

I have it. It's my most played game. Once you unlock the tuning ability it's really addicting.

"soon" in Gran Turismo world means 2 years. It is unanimously accepted GT5 will not be out till 2010.
The game gets updates every couple of months. Mainly to improve phyics and other little things but 3 cars were added for free last month.

Gt5:P is very cool especially when hooked you to a G25 wheel!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I think if you want a racing right now go pick up a used copy since there are alot of them out now.

As long as your not as your not thinking it going to to be the full GT5 then your not going to be dissapointed.

id like to know why is it taking such a terribly long time to release the REAL game?
and is everything unlocked or unlockable during this "Prologue"? ive always looked at Prologue as a demo of sorts because of the meaning of "Prologue". i cant justify spending $40 on a demo when PS1 used to give demos out for FREE in magazines!

I got this game for free from George (Nemesis) and traded it in a few days later. The game is beautiful and is great if you're looking for eye candy. However, the gameplay is soulless and about is about as involving as Mario Kart without the weapons. The Gran Turismo franchise lost it's drive after GT3 in my opinion and the gameplay has become lifeless. GT5: Prologue offers very few vehicles to choose from, even fewer tracks, and a complete neglect for customization of any fashion. If you want something pretty to look at then go for it. For a game that is actually fun to play, I recommend looking elsewhere.
