HQ Beamer III 3.0m Traction Kite For Sale

Used Beamer III 3.0m^2 kite for sale. This kite is so much fun, and a great all around kite. I probably have about 6 hours total time on this kite. I purchased the kite new at the end of March 2008.

The kite includes the foil, bridles (attached already), lines, winder, stake, stake sheath, handles, and kite killers, as well as the backpack.

The foil is in great condition, with one repair near the center - one seam has come unsewn near the center for about 4" long. I sewed it shut, ensuring to sew everything back together as it originally was. I have flown it hard for about 2 hours since the repair, with no apparent loss of strength in the repaired area. Please see pictures below.

The kite flies true, indicating to me that the bridle and lines are not stretched unevenly or in poor condition. No fraying is evident on the lines.

Everything may still be a little sandy, but I tried washing the kite and everything off.

I would like to get $180 + shipping for the kite OBO - this is about a $60 savings, and I think a fair price considering the condition.

If you are at all interested in getting into power / traction kiting, this is the kite for you. HQ makes a very good kite. This kite is fun and forgiving in 10mph winds, and one helluva ride in winds from 18-25mph. In high winds I have scudded more than 70 yards at one time.

that is awesome!!! how much do you have to weigh to use that?

No weight limit - it's all in how well you control the kite. We put my 85 lb nephew on it at the beach and he was having a blast after he quickly figured out how to control it. A quick dive through the power zone and he went cruising down the beach leaned back on his heels. At the other end of the scale, when we put my 200 lb father on it, it was easily dragging him 30 yards at a time when he made the kite dive through the power zone.

I promise that regardless of how much you weigh, you won't want to fly it more than about 30 minutes your first time in high winds - your arms will be screaming from the punishment.

The kite is actually a little small for kite jumping - it will lift you if you try, but 3m is not big enough to give you a gentle landing.

This would be a good kite for fun flying - hard tugging and some great scuds (getting dragged on your feet or butt). It could even be used as a high wind "engine" for a buggy, kite board, kite skates, etc....
