    depends on whether its the GSM or CDMA model. The CDMA hasn't really been released for the general public yet, so his is probably a GSM (cingular, t-mobile) phone.

    If you use nextel, or sprint (like I do) then you are screwed. No Razr phones will work on those networks because Sprint/Nextel are a bunch of idiots with their thumbs up their rear ends and refuse to activate them to work. (They will only activate phones sold in their stores).

    You can use a GSM Razr on Cingular (obviously), and T-mobile (if you unlock it and swap in a SIM card). The new CDMA Razr is coming out for Verizon, so you will be able to use one on their network as well.
