Man that sux. Camera's are getting pretty cheap lately. Get an old camera off Craigslist. Even an old VHS and put it onslowest it will go, should give you about 6 hrs of taping then get up and switch it out in the middle of the night.

Really, with any convertible car you are a target. My Jeep's stereo got jacked right in front of my house and we lived in a NICE hood. Since then I started buying cheaper headunits. I loved my Convertibles but they are a theif's target. Basically all you can do is get a pagin alarm system and when you install your stereo or any other after market part use screws and bolts that aren't common. Use square headed screws or allen screws and T-bit screw that look like stars. That detours them a lot because the tools are usually carried. The more difficult it is to remove the less likely they will spend the time.
On my Jeep I used a lot of Allen screws and star type screws.
Maybe a cheap way to protect your Head Unit it to make a aluminum plate that just barely fits around the unit that will secure it into the dash and use rivits to secure that plate to the dash. Most theives aren't gonna care a drill and drill bits to steal your HU.
Bascially you just have to be more creative than the thieves.
But really, alternative screws help secure a lot of stuff to your ride.
