Default competition clutch stage 2/forged flywheel going in

first i want to say thanks to my boys at JJSPEC Racing here in Macon for taking good care of me, as always, on the combo order and install....they are hands down the place to order your competition clutch setups....id also like to thank competition, parts were shipped out the same day they were ordered and at the shop the next morning

this is competitions stage 2 clutch and forged lightweight flywheel....i must say after owning a variety of vehicles with a variety of clutches this is top quality stuff....tranny is out right now, will be put back in tomorrow and the breakin starts

    the tunnel

    teh t56

the old...you can somewhat see the heatspots

the disk itself....worn all the way down to the rivets

old and new....we weighed the flywheel...stock is 21 lbs and the forged unit from competition weighs in at 12lbs....should make for some nice revs

there were problems with lightweight flywheels in the t56's, but its been taken care of as far as i can find, its all about balancing, and usually the problems were coupled with aftermarket driveshafts, though they dont weigh much less than stockers, if anything....there isnt really a thread on ls1gto.com to speak of since '06 about such a thing

Awesome, thanks Melissa! I will pm you some links to some recent high res shots, ive been trying to get around to get some more shots since the JJSPEC window banner was added, but ill send a pm with some links to some nice recents shots.

for you other people i finished my break in on monday morning, was extra nice to the car, went out to JJSPEC today to see what the guys were up to and then let her rip on the way home and wow, gave the traction control a nice workout, i now have pedal all the way to redline through 4th and was able to change into 5th without hesitation, which was impossible on the stock clutch, the lightweight rotating assembly has also made 6th gear useable around town now as well, where as before my car starved below 55-60 b/c of the cam....very impressed with the quality and stick of this clutch!

    p.s.....hows my civic?

thanks man! ill be out at sdr sunday for the ga f-body assoc. shootout....other than that im not too fond of sdr, im a fan of prepping so i will probably continue to stick around macon national dragway, even though its a 1/8th mile track

the yellow/black gto sound pretty wicked? runs 12's? sounds like sappy's car

HA HA! So you're the one that previously owned my car?? Jimmy called me the day you had stopped by and told me the story about the dent on the door. I always wondered how that got there.

I haven't done too much to the car since they had it - just switched out the stereo and put on the Pro Series Skunk2 coilovers. Saving for paint and a roll cage now.
