    http://www.importatlanta.com/forums/...9#post37124219
    Goal was to do it myself,and cheap. Got new doors so I didnt want to ride around with diff color doors.
    quart of Shopline paint-$78
    Gallon of Smart clear with medium activator-$66
    Husky disposible drop cloth $1.99
    -All ready had sandpaper,tape and other misc items from previous projects-

    Its not perfect but im happy with it.

    started off with this rotting orange peel effect car;

    Then hours of sanding and buffing due to my painting mistaks
    -No wax,just compound and polishing swirl remover-

    close ups as requested:

    can see the 'pin holes' in some areas i didnt get all the way out.but gotta get close up to see.

    Could you by chance post where you bought the paint/supplys, what prep work you did (with what tool equipment/grit paper), what type gun/spray can you used(where you got it), and exactly how you wet sanded/polished the panels to get all the orange peel out.....thats DAMN impressive. I've been looking into painting my own car for quite some time now.....its would be awesome to have similiar results

    If you could post a detailed DIY, I'm sure TONS of people could use it.

    GREAT JOB! - It looks amazing for something you did at home. Never thought a home paint job would turn out so good.

    I got the paint mixed up from a place in Glenwood. Got the Clear coat kit from Autocolor(finish masters) in Lawrencville-Hurricane shoals rd, im sure they mix up paint there also.

    I went to Harbor freight and got;
    Masking paper-to tape windows,practice spray patters ect,
    5pc Disposible paint cups for the gun,
    Husky disposible drop cloth
    adjustable air reg with gauge
    disposible inline water traps

    I already had the gun,tape,and all the sandpaper and stuff
    10Gal. 2.5hp Brute air compressor, 50ft 3/8th air line
    grits from 400-3000 (800-3000 is WETORDRY)
    400/800 dry is for sanding the car before paint.(using a 6" DA-Air powered)

    clean the surface with prep wipes,or wax grease remover, then Tack cloth.

    tape off everything get everthing ready to spray and go at it. waiting 10/15 mins in between coats to flash the solvents(read paint specifications for that and mixing rations ect)

    then to get orange peel out(if done correctly then it wont be as bad as mine that was the result of gun not set right)
    but depending on how bad it is, start off with 1500grit wet and a paint stick and start blocking by hand till its flat,no trash...then go over it again with either 2000g and if applicaible 3000g( i had access to that since i worked at a shop and took some before i quit..ha)

    then use a rotary buffer with 3m white-Compound pad, 3m Gray-Polishing pad( if black or darker colors 3m blue pad-waxing
