Dean, THANKS for the turbo man, feels so good.

Pat, thanks for the work you put into the GSX, it's awesome.

Vinman, I hear you put a lot of work into this car too, so thanks.

With that said, it's 16g'd now (not new for y'all, but I'm excited ) and weight stripped (beginning stages).

LoL sorry about the thread fail, evan
16g's are cool turbos. Slap a td06 turbine wheel in there if you want more top end, once you get use to your new found horsepower.

    how much boost?

    what kind of 16g?

    td05, right?

mitsu turbos are teh fail... but the 16g aint bad... Screw putting in the 06 wheel you have the machine the turbine housing, you can just have the 05 wheel clipped. Also, later on you can machine the compressor housing and put in a evo3 super16g wheel on thurr. makes for a nice improvement... But other than that have fun. Make sure you get a nice tune before you have too much fun... i'd recommend safcII or dsm-link at the bare least.

I don't trust clipped wheels. Besides, porting the hot side to match a turbine wheel is a sinch, it's cheap labor.

No point in doing a super16g, you might as well do a 20g if you're changing the compressor side.

20g wheel will not fit in the 16g housing

i've seen some C series (single fin) wheels fit in the 16g but its a stretch... the 17c namely (typhoon)

So the 18g is the biggest compressor wheel you can fit into that housing? My buddy had a td05 20g on his evo. The compressor side looked identical to the stock one.

the evo 16g and the 16g that he's using are two completely different turbos.. .for one... the evo 16g is aka the td05hR-16g... Its much bigger ... and its REVERSE rotation, hence the R , also, its twin scroll... Its a nice turbo, but the little dsm 16g housing he has will hardly accomodate any wheel bigger than an 18g... Maybe 20g is possible? but i wouldn't go for it.. the cfms are so little it just wouldnt be worth the effort/hassle. Then again mitsu turbos suck, they are outdated.

TD05 mitsu big 16g with evo 3 ported exhaust housing on 20 psi

It was a cheap fix for my screwed up 14b, lol.
I have 680 pte's, afpr, safc2, chipped ecu, wideband, logger (coming), etc.
