Default Acura CL & TL Type-S Problems?

Looking to buy an 2000-2004 Acura CL Type-S or TL Type-S. Any common problems I should look out for other than the tranny? Also, is there much difference between the TL and CL other than number of doors? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

With the 09's coming out I think you should get the 04+ TL, I got a used one for 20k.

All the newer model TL's have these pesky rattles that are easily fixed.
Some people get vibration in the wheel and can not figure out what the cause is. This hasnt applied to me.
Get the one with navi, I regret not getting it.

the other major problem with the CL-S is the SRS sensor in the passenger's seat.

    CL-S was only made in 01-03. CL-S6spd was only in 03. TL-S and CL-s Auto's have a glass tranny
Some people like cucombers better pickled.

I remember my mom ended up getting her transmission either replaced or rebuilt in her 01-02 (don't remember which year) TL Type-S. I know it was under warranty, but I honestly don't remember if it malfunctioned or was just a recall issue.

I got a 2003 TL-S. 3 weeks after I bought it, my transmission gave out. Apparently there was a recall on the 2001-03 but it didn't cover ALL TLs. I found out the hard way. It would've cost me almost 3Gs to replace it but the dude at Acura Carland hooked me up. If you get a TL and the transmission was never serviced under the recall, check your warranties. I thought mine was covered but I was sadly mistaken.

But other than that...I LOVE my car! LOL!

Older as in early 2000s? Because if so I highly disagree. Other than the tranny problem (that was fixed under warranty) our car has been near flawless. Nice interior, looks good, is comfortable for longer trips, and has a decent amount of get-up. It's exactly what it is supposed to be.
