    Default clutch problems

less than a month ago i bought a 2000 celica gt-s. the day i bought it on my way to a friends house the clutch burnt out. so i replaced it with a standard, nothing special, replacement from advanced autoparts. well tonight on my way home from work my clutch started slipping really bad. i babied it home and i dont know what the problem is. the pedal is soft but there is no bad smell of a burning clutch like before. any thougths??

    thanks
    brody

is this a pretty common thing... i dont think we disconnected the slave.. is it possible it needs bleeding or maybe some kind of adjustment because the new clutch is thicker... or wearing down some... i dont really know lol. this sux... we had the flywheel resurfaced. idk anybodys input is really appreciated. thanx!!

    Default hmm

    you can try..
**bleeding in case air did get in the clutch lines
**throw out bearing could be worn out or not aligned correctly when you were putting it back on
**might need new throw out bearing or accessories that came or were supposed to come with the clutch
**try adjusting your clutch so it can engage fully(behind clutch pedal should be some way you can change the low and high points)
    **tranny fluids/etc

    Just my 2cents

when i had my celica gts i burnd out the clutch and replaced it w/ autozone crap. burnt out in 6mts, decided to just get an exedy stage 1. great grip lasted at least 2yrs was still goin strong when i sold the car. i beleive the daisin stage 1 is exact same clutch and i thing you can get those from napa. its cheaper than exedy. when i bought the exedy it had daisan on the inside of the box so pobably exact same thing.
