    my fav part:
    Songster's young daughter wanted chickens as pets, so he mail-ordered 25 in January and gave away all but four. The family's lone rooster, a bonus special-breed egg that came with two dozen ordinary hens, may have tipped off Athens-Clarke code enforcement officers, sucking the Songsters into the Kafka-esque world of county building and zoning laws. Eventually a neighbor, no doubt sick of early-morning crowing, shot it.
