Today there was an event to help raise money for the children of fallen Special Operations Soldiers. It was organized by a non-profit organization here locally. I got up nice and early but had no gas in the car, so I was late of course. This cruise was being escorted by Alpharetta Police from the Jeffries on Jones Bridge Rd to GA400, and then escorted by GSP all the way to Columbus, GA- Fort Bening. I ended up joining the massive pack of Corvettes right before merging on 400S. There was every year, color, model Corvette you could think of. It was an amazing sight as the Alpharetta Police blocked every intersection as the 100+ Corvettes blew threw the lights. I hopped in line and off we went; cruising down 400 at speeds of 90mph at times. Nothing better than riding next to some blue lights at 25 over the speed limit, and not being scared of being pulled over.We hit some heavy spots and it was hard for GSP to block all the cars for us to go by, but they still did an amazing job!

As we were entering downtown we came up on 5 school buses full of kids. I was about mid pack and you all of sudden see all thse little heads pop up to see the million corvettes going by. Definately a cool sight to see.
We merged onto I185 after Newnan, and we got the speeds cranking. I hit @115-120mph a couple of times. Cars were moving over, and others on the other side were breaking necks to see these American cars go by.
We enter the base and lunches were ready, we were able to tour the Infantry Museum, and show off the cars. Everybody was very friendly and amazingly enough nobody acted like an idiot on the trip down.
Check out the pics I took- sorry some are kinda crappy as I was driving solo and snapping pics at the same time. Enjoy!
I have some more that need to be hosted check back later.
