Default clutch pedal soft and wont disengage

alright so i got my car up and running with no leaks, no smoking, everything is great except my clutch. pushing on the clutch pedal does next to nothing. i can shift into gears when the car is off, but once i start it, the clutch is constantly engaged. pushing in on the pedal doesnt do anything. it feels soft and the first 4" or so of pedal movement has NO resistance. i started a thread a week or so ago about it feeling funny before starting the car. a buddy and i have devoted about an hour to bleeding it, and no more air is coming out; but thats what it feels like is the problem. could air still be trapped somewhere in the line or master cylinder maybe? i dont see any signs of leaking from the master cylinder (inside the cabin and out), same for the slave cylinder. open to any suggestions. oh its a 95 gsr with a competition clutch stage 5 (sprung).

^^That's what I was about to say. Check master AND slave cylinders. Slave cylinders like to kick the can just as much as master cylinders.

Fuck stance. Stance is for kids in skinny jeans with Justin Beiber haircuts. You don't need stance when you got swagger.

check your lines too. i had a leak in mine under some insulation when i put my motor in and i couldnt see it at all. but then my slave cylinder pooped while i was in florida, so it could be that too. make sure your cap is tight on the master, and have somebody watch the level in the cylinder while you pump the clutch. if the level moves at all, its NOT your master cylinder.

You can watch the slave as you press in the clutch if it doesnt move back an forth then you need to bleed it out ,, when you bleed it out it takes a moment ( clutch in out many times ) before it gets back hard...I use a power flushing system by Snap On tools an It works great ...To be honest if it was me Ill replace the slave/master at the same time they both do tend to go out ..Just like light bulbs they have the same amount of hours an time on them they will tend to go out soon after the other one does

well the fork moves when i push the clutch in, but it still wont disengage. spent about an hour bleeding the line and it definitely helped the pedal feel a lot. i think its an issue with the throwout bearing. im going to pull the tranny tuesday and check it out. anyone wanna help? free beer and lunch

My first guess was a throwout bearing. If I knew anything about whatever kind of car this is, I'd come help.

well, i think it what we talked about when we were bleeding it..throw out fell off or was not installed or its a faulty pressure plate..thats the only things it can be.

Did u bolt down all the the bolt to the pressure plate correctly? it seem like the problem isnt in the clutch master cylinder since the fork is moving when u press down the pedal.
