They are coming back to Atlanta radio starting July 1st. They will be the morning show on B98.5 starting July 1st.
Not my choice of station to listen to but I will listen to it in the morning to hear them again.
Soccer moms, rejoice! Steve McCoy and Vikki Locke will again be on Atlanta's morning airwaves, this time on B98.5 FM's 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. slot.
The duo were a popular morning mainstay on Star 94 (94.1 WSTR-FM) for almost 18 years and did their last show in November 2007. Now, they'll return on July 1 at B98 (WSB-FM) with their signature contests and community causes. The new Steve & Vikki morning show will be topical-based and humorous, combining pop culture topics with celebrity and guest interviews, B98.5 said. The station will continue to air the Kelly & Alpha show until July.
"The excitement and thrill of the new opportunity that awaits Vikki and me at B98.5 FM and joining Cox Radio is second only to the happiness we feel to be back on morning radio in Atlanta," McCoy said. "We love this town. It's where we belong, and we can hardly wait to once again wake up our listeners - who we have always thought of as our family. We have missed them!"
Owned by Atlanta-based Cox Radio Inc. (NYSE: CXR), B98.5FM is an adult contemporary station that targets women between the ages of 25-54.
The return of Steve and Vikki follows the recent return of another popular Atlanta morning show -- The Regular Guys. In January, the irreverent show featuring Larry Wachs, Eric Von Haessler, Steve Rickman and Tim Andrews resurfaced on 100.5 (WWWQ-FM), which switched to a new format and dubbed itself "Rock100.5." At the same time, The Bert Show moved from 100.5 to 99.7 (WNNX-FM).
