All I can here is a ticking sound from the distributor areas? Any ideas? It was perfectly drviable and no sign of dead before I parked my car a few hours ago. BTW, it is a 94 honda accord with 145k.

Jump the battery.
try a jump if not check the starter. i beleive thats kinda right under the dist.
jumped it, and nothing happen.
then go for the starter. try tapping on it with a hammer then try starting it
its starter....
try to push it and pop the clutch...if that works its probly the starter
If you haven't had any hard to start problems or anything like that, since starter problems are USUALLY progressive, try checking your clutch[or neutral if it's an auto] safety switch and starter relay.
yeah safety switch is a killer... it'll sneak up on you and blow your mind!, my buddy just had to bypass his.Originally Posted by KPowerEP3
but thats not a super common problem... but always a possibility
but when I crank the car I hear a very loud noisy sound from the distributor area (as if something tries to rotate inside the distributor was blocked). BTW, all the dash light and stereo is working, so I assume there is no problem with the battery.
kick it!
you has bad connectionz by z battery.
if the car trys to turn over but wont then shoot for the dizzy... my DA had a very similar problem and that was the culpritOriginally Posted by takume
is the motor actually turning over or just you turn the key and then click
i agree probly bad battery connections
I'm kind of having the same problem.
Try to jump your starter off to narrow down the problems there. If you cant do that then it might be your starter motor or just the solenoid if you are lucky.
I am turning it over, and hear that loud buzz noise....like ZZZZ. I am thinking whether is the dizzy or starter? maybe something else, idk? anyway to test it out?Originally Posted by redrumracer
if there is no spark- change the coil in the dizzy. takes 7 mins. if that doesnt fix it take the coil back. i just had this problem today and the same thing happened to my gsr a while back!!!
