use a ring gear holder, its cheaper
i never used one i always just removed the bolt and wiggle it off

Ring Gear Holder. So the Ring gear holder will allow the crank from turning to get the Crank Bolt out?

lol impact will NOT always work out of the 250 timing belts i have done maybe 20 have came off with the a impact gun. just use a chain wrench.
Unfortunately I do not have access to a impact gone nor compressor. Do the regular autoparts store carry chain wrenches? Thanks for the advice.

it the motor is in the car, you have to remove the starter and put a ring gear holder there. it just bolts on the a mounting hole on the block and locks the flywheel from spinning. and once its tight you can then go wrench the crank pulley bolt off with out the crank spinning.
I just replaced my pulleys for under drive ones and what I did to remove the crankshaft pulley was put my transmission in 5th gear and step on the breaks as hard as I could while my brother in law loose the bolt and then the pulley came right out.
Don't need the pulley tool. Just as "civicracer5000" stated, use that method. It's the cheaper route, if you dont have the tool. Here's my method but lil more detail.
1. Take off the driverside wheel.
2. Jack up the front of the vehicle, enough so the car is lifted off the ground. Make sure you have safety jack stands, and block of wood behind the rear wheels.
3. Skip this step if you already past this. Remove all neccesary drive belts, valve cover, etc. Make sure the #1 piston at top dead center. Remove, spark plug #1 and stick a clean tube or rod down the passage and let it sit on top of piston. When alligning to TDC, the rod should go up on #1 piston (If it goes back down, reverse and make go up) if you confused then, search on Hondatech.
4. Allign all the gears and pully to TDC, and begin taking Pulley bolt off.
5. Use Long extension, and half inch socket and rachet. Support the extension of the rachet with a jackstand.
6. Tell a buddy to shift the trans mission of the car to 5 gear, and step on the brakes HARD.
7. Push with all you might and strength, to release the crankbolt. Make sure you are using a pipe bar (aka breaker bar with the rachet). This method helped me, hope it helped you.
