you dont need a 3 bar, you dont need a vacuum box, or afc if you have a chipped ecu.

First, it is CROME not chrome (Cui Rom Editor). Like the guy above said, running chipped ECU, why need to run with AFC or SAFC or whatever else? You don't run enough boost for the need of the 3 bar map sensor. If you plan to run only 7 psi, stock map sensor could read up to 9 or 10 psi. Save some money to get the brand name turbo like Garrett, Precision...instead of cheap turbo. Do it cheap, do it multiple times! Do it right the first time. Look like you still need to do a lot more research before boosting your engine!

i just thought having a chipped ecu on a basemap wouldnt be save driving around before i get it tuned.but then again i see cars up forsale all the time here: untuned or blah blah on basemap and they seem to do fine..?

Driving around a boost car without getting it tuned is a dumbest thing to do! I don't understand why people spend a lot of money to build their engine, buy expensive turbo kit then drive around with "BASEMAP", and don't tune their car right away? It only takes a second to mess up a good engine. No money? Then don't drive it until get it tuned! IMO there is no reason people can come up with the money for turbo, but can't come up with money to tune. Stay away from those people who sell their boosted cars that run on "BASEMAP"! Most likely they already messed up their engines.

Dude shut the **** up.... driving on a base map is ok, as long as you dont hit boost. What a ****ing idiot, on trying to say it isnt ok to drive on a base map, then why the **** was it created then?

Although it is ok to drive untune, its best to get it tuned ASAP.

Also dont use XS power as an option, and it dosent take a lot of research to figure slapping on a turbo and calling it a day.

My opinion is run the same turbo as Emino is, that spools up quick and its perfect for the F23///

    btw are auto or 5spd?

If your on the auto tranny, I suggest you get it rebuilt to OEM or Build the tranny itsself.

If your on the 5spd, then upgrade the clutch and flywheel.

i was looking at the garrett aireasearch(sp?) but it had an internal wastegate.and i didnt want to have internal wastegate due to of course the mani is 35/38mm gated and i ordered the TiAl..

what if i take apart the turbo and rebuild it before i evn use it?
its the one stamped M12-iv seen a few people use them.

hes not wrong, most people who boost their cars that drive on basemaps are prone to boosting on them, its ok to drive a basemap if you drive it non aggressivly, not in boost. However do not drive on a basemap for too long.

It sucks, that 5spd accords 98+ have 3 wire iacv, anyway you have to repin some stuff at the ecu and conver the plug to a 2 wire, make an adapator plate at the intake manifold etc etc to accept the 2 wire iacv..... or you can bolt on an obd1 f series intake manifold and be done with it, still having to rewire the stuff though.

i just searched. and found the http://technet.ff-squad.com/ diagram
from the B(25p) connector move B6 wire to empty b23 and remove b15.

sound about right for the repin?

i know it took me forever to find it because everyone had the "wrong pinout" but it is in the b connector.

so it just wont idle right since obd1 cars only read 2wire ? is that pretty much it summed up?

it will be hard to tune w/o the 2 wire iacv hooked up, and driveability will suck the balls

yes, and in order for it to work properly you have to make an adaptor plate to put it on the intake mani (where the 3wire is)
