    Default What I did on February 2, 2008 @ 6 AM......56K Beware

Well as most of you guys know, I've been having quite a bit of problems with my motor. I blame it on me for being in soooooo much of a rush that I didn't check everything to if they were in operating conditions. Well I pieced this motor together and now I'm pulling it all apart; for your viewing pleasure. So if you've never pulled a motor out before I'll explain it as I go. The main reason for me breaking down the motor is because I have a horrific oil leak, which costs me hundreds in buying more oil lol. This is all being brought to you by my camera phone.....FTW

The first thing that I did was to drain out all the oil, transmission fluid, and coolant.

When I drains the oil from my transmission, I got a good look at what I was spitting out lol

I then pulled out my battery and Intake (Oil going through Intake as seen in pic)

Then I purged the fuel from the filter

After that I started pulling off my wiring harness, so that I don't break a connector or something

Sorry for the pics getting smaller, my phone was trying to be a smart-ass lol, but I then pulled the harness from out the car and started to pull of the hoses, not cutting them.

I then pulled the "Bitch Pin" out along with my axles.

Sorry for the lack of pics on that

To the pulling and mounting on the engine stand

Then I started to pull of everything, so that I'm able to clean it off without damaging anything.

    My Gasket Set...... Felpro

My Honda Piston Rings, compliments of Sons Acura (free advertising FTL lol) ,but I have a couple friends up there so it's all good

Some more shots of my randomness

Pics of the black ass oil leaking everywhere....

It's now 10:20 PM, my friend just got in so now I'm able to pull the head off now, so those would soon be up as well

Ok... So today was clean-up day since I can't get my pistons yet and my motor needed to be cleaned

    The Tranny was worst....

Taped and Cleaned off the Head (You can tell by the valves of where I was having the most problems at)

Oil had spilled on my floor so I had to clean that ASAP

It started to look stormy so I decided to push my baby in the garage

Power tools are over rated! lol
I really don't want to break mine down but the motor i have has been sitting for over 6 months ... uncovered and outside . Im kinda worried there might be something wrong with it.
Go ahead and buy you some p30's (jdm b16 piston i believe ) bump up the comp a little.

I was talking to a co-worker and he said that I'll be better off getting some forged pistons instead of Honda OEMs

Well yeah if you gonna get forged rods too! Obviously there gonna be better but you pay for what you get. If im not mistaken the p30s have a little bit higher dome than that of the usdm ones; Hence the 10hp b/t JDMvsUSDM b16's but don't quote me on that! lol

The CTR are fawked from being in the B16A2. I got this block fully assembled and was in a rush to drop it in my car so I didn't take the time to inspect it.

G/L with that man. I may attempt it sometime later down the road. I'd like to see what all needs replaced and whats goin on. It'd be nice to have a new/old car or an old/new car.

Thanx . If and when you attempt, don't panic...lol everything is easy, but just know that you'll need to invest in some after-market head bolts.

Besides that, left the Acura Dealership with my rear-main seal, Pilot Bearing, and Oil Strainer Gasket. I had to order my pistons, looks like I'm going ITR

Since I had to order my pistons, but they'll be here tomorrow. I could only assemble the back of the block while replacing O-Rings and all that good stuff.

As I replaced the O-Rings going to the water pump, I decided to check out the Water Pump to make sure that it was good and boy was I in for a big surprise lol

It looked like someone has been chewing on it, but luckily I still have my water pump from my other B16 motor around.

Also got to replace the Rear-Main Seal and put my Oil Pump back on

Tomorrow leads to completion to this never-ending nightmare lol

You need to flip those and pickup b16 pistons, check out this compression calculater... just think you will be under 10:1
