i can't wait till the day soljer boy, or whatever the f.uck you call it, falls off the face of the earth. the sheer annoyance of the song pretty much sums up the rap "music" of today.

Yea, I guess it's not all solja boy and yes I miss Jamaica. I want to go back! I'm working on it. I am hoping that I will be able to open a track there someday.

you have young folks faithfully buying his CD's
while adults wont even go out and support their own favorite artists.. they would rather dl everything. these same artists sit in the radio station complaining on air about how rap sucks... ..bunch of babies get in the studio make some HITS!
Wow. People really take this rap stuff seriously! I had no idea it was this deep.

I wasn't criticizing him personally, i was criticizing the whole "rap" scene these days where you can make an absolutely pointless rhyme about your left testicle, put it to a good beat, and have a ton of conformist sheep blindly accept it and talk about you like you're the best thing since sliced bread. Excuse the f.uck out of me for actually appreciating actual music.Originally Posted by JITB

I am being nicely serious, so don't yell at me pwease.
I'll answer for myself. Grandmaster Flash, Afrikka Bambatta, Melle Mel, Kurtis Blow, Treacherous Three, Whodini, Busy B, Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and a slew of other hip hop artists who actually had something to say and rapped about stuff other than how many people they could gun down and how much money and jewelry they had. Much more entertaining and lyrically satisfying. Later, QD.Originally Posted by Tracy

Maybe one day expand yoru hearing, and take some time and listen to a artists you would never listen to. because i can tell that you are missing out on alot of good music..i love old school music, but i mean comon how long can u listen to old music..

I can't name a huge list because i'm not a hardcore rap guy. I can name a huge list of sh.it i hate though, and i guarantee all of it is played on 95.5 the beat.

its all about gettin out of your environment, making a living of your voice over a beat. and telling your story. you listen to ANY type of music its all the same.. just different ways to let it out.. It was so crazy when i realized that when i started to listen to all types of music.
Damn you act like you forgot that I do know what I'm talking about here. I'm no rap expert, but I honestly think I know more about (old school) rap than anyone else on IA. Back in the late 70s-early 80s, there rapping about material things was few and far between. Coming out of the mid 80s, materialistic items started making an appearance, though not heavily. Rap back in the early days talked mostly about social issues and partying/having a good time(but not on today's scale). You're first paragraph is null. Everything was clean and made sense. All the nonsense you hear in rap today was basically nonexistent then. That's why NWA is considered the pioneer of that (gangsta) genre of rap. Pioneering meaning they started it all. You didn't have all the "fucc the police" talk going on before them. The only good hip hop today is the shiit you don't hear every day. I personally don't like it, but it is true hip hop. anyone else hear his latest song, talk about annoying
damn this is funny. i respect both old and new hip hop. there's pros and cons to both sides. i personally used to hate southern rap but now i love it. that's actually all i'm about. you can think what you want but the beats are sick and they pound in the clubs. plus, the south is doing it big now. literally... 'we takin ovaaaa!' haha. so stop talkin ****. represent bitches. we make good music toohehe
haha hell yeaaa that songs funny as hell. "soulja boy can i... YAHHH TRICK YAHHHH"Originally Posted by ChnkyLao
