    unlike here in the usa where its like $50 bux to get a custom plate,

    in the uk its a much higher price (not this much but still) and its really simple

    too: like AB423 to where its initials of your name and can go for $6,000.00.

    lol @ you guys lack of reading comprehension. The article says he owns a business making custom car parts. Also, the money wasn't all wasted, but it went to good use. It's just as "silly" as people making contributions to organizations.... but to show for it, he got a coveted tag.

    His company, Kahn Design, now buys new top-of-the-range cars and strips them out before redesigning them ready to be sold.

    The council sold it to raise money for a charity which aims to raise the standards of young drivers.

    yea but still man that's as bad as the idiot that paid close to a mil for that glass top GT500KR at Barrett Jackson auction. yea it went to a good cause but you gotta look after your financials in the process. The guy can't even write off the purchase of the plate or the car as a tax deduction because he got something in return for it

    How is that relevant in the least? I hate Nascar, and I think F1 is cool. But at the same time to pay over $800,000 for a custom tag is ridiculous, even if it does go to a good cause.
