Both are awesome machines in my eyes. Personally, and I'm sure there will be a few that disagree. But I would take the 911 over the new GTR without a second thought.
The only reason i would take a 911 over a GTR is because simply.. you roll up somewhere in a 911 and people go "oh he's got money" but if i was racing all the time, took my car to the track, this that the other, i'd take the GTR over the 911 in a heartbeat.
It's all about status, anyone who wants a 911 over a GTR would just want to roll up places to impress people.. females.. specifically
I agree with you to an extent. I just would much rather drive a manual transmission than an automatic, but that's just me.

I wouldn't say that. There are some that are just loyal and like to stay in the family. It isn't always about who's got or who flaunts their money. The ones that usually think that way are the ones who do not own the cars.

all of them are IIRC..I may be wrong, but most of the videos I've seen of it, they were all autos
All GT-R's i've seen are automatic with F1 transmissions.. instant shifting with the paddles :]
