    Default FS: '89 Nissan 240sx SE T28/T3 ca18det

    1989 Nissan 240sx SE
    137k miles
    Clean title

    NO LONGER FOR SALE

    Drivetrain:
-JDM ca18det motor swap with ~65k miles
-Norris Designs T28/T3 hybrid turbo (paid over $1000 from norrisdesigns.com! car has always had turbo timer installed from day 1 since swap)
-Norris Designs stage 1 ECU chip
    -300ZX Z32 MAF
-3" custom turbo back exhaust into APEXi N1 muffler
-Mitsubishi Starion Front mount intercooler with modified end tanks
-APEXi dual chamber blow off valve, vented to the atmosphere
    -FAL 12" electric fan
    -APEXi S-AFC fuel controller
    -HKS turbo timer type 1
    -Walbro 255lph fuel pump
    -Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch

    Suspension:
    -Front and rear strut bars
-Intrax springs on Tokico blue shocks

    Interior:
-Very clean for its age, 8/10 condition
    -Autometer boost gauge
    -PS removed
-AC removed, heater still there and works great
-Viper alarm system with keyless entry

    Exterior:
-Painted Honda Electric Blue Pearl (civic si color)
-ADR 17x7.5" wheels painted bronze, good tread on tires
    -Infiniti M30 turn signals
-JDM 180SX type x kouki rear wing
    -JDM 180SX tail light centerpiece
    -Honda S2000 Antenna

    The Bad:
-It runs good but a little rich because its running the stock FPR (which cant keep up with the walbro) and the SAFC is not tuned.
-It has the original KA24E (sohc) gauge cluster, which means the tach doesnt work because it does not read the dohc signal. The SAFC has a tachometer function though so I just use that instead. All other functions on the gauge cluster work fine, odometer is accurate.
-Front wheels need to be balanced again, weights somehow fell off. You can drive fine but the steering wheel will shake from 45mph till about 55mph. Any faster or slower the wheel does not shake at all.
-The driver side power window is loose from the rail or something. It kinda shakes around when going up or down. It opens and closes fine though, and it does not leak when it rains. Did not bother me enough to take off the door panel and try to fix it.
-From 30ft away the car looks great, but the paint is cracked in the rear bumper, small surface rust spot on driver side, a few dings. See pictures.
-Normal minor surface rust spots here and there under the car, but no major rust.
-The previous owner somehow disactivated the abs system, the abs light is on but its all there.

I also have the original owner's manual and dealer window sticker!

Also comes with a complete seal/gasket kit for CA18det

The 1.8 L CA18DET was the last version of the CA engine to be released. It produces 173 hp (124 kW) and 166 ft·lbf (228 Nm). It received a brand new DOHC aluminum head with 16 valves. The turbocharger was also upgraded to a Garrett T25 (.48 A/R) unit for increased flow capacity, and as such, was fitted with an intercooler to help volumetric efficiency. Fuel was delivered via Multiport Fuel Injection. Bore is 83 mm, and stroke is 83.6 mm. This near square design, coupled with the head design, allows CA18DETs to spin well beyond 8,000 rpms, even in stock trim. The CA18DET is a robust built engine considering that many people have produced over 600 hp with modification. Often referred to as the four cylindered RB engine.

    ^ voila ^

    Thanks guys lol

I never dynoed it before, its not a beast or anything. I have never turned up the boost because it still has the stock injectors, but its definitely over 200rwhp. I "raced" my friend in e36 bmw m3 that has a few bolt ons and we were dead even from 2nd all the way to 4th. Get a boost controller and DSM bluetops (you can get this for under $500), tune the safc and you should be around 300rwhp.

Thanks for all the compliments. I will have motor pics tomorrow.

FYI there is more info on the turbo at norrisdesigns.com. Notice the price on it, 700 british pounds is almost a grand US$ for the turbo alone!
