PS3 sold 500k in Nov

Hello everyone, the new NPD sales numbers are out, and I wanted to share some new sales stats that have us excited here at PlayStation central.

For the month of November, PlayStation hardware unit sales exceeded 1.5 million units, including close to half-a-million PLAYSTATION 3 consoles. That’s means nearly 4 times as many PS3s ended up in North American homes in November than the month before.

Thats good, PS3 finally picking up, but read this

Microsoft's Xbox 360 (770,000) may have beaten the PS3 again, but Nintendo's Wii trounced them both (981,000). Nintendo didn't rest there, though; last month, the DS continued its wrath against the PSP (1,530,000).

Wii>Ps3>360, but those are all close imo...Wii isn't fun by yourself because you haven't found the right games yet apparently. i enjoy playing with my wii when i'm alone

As far as consoles though the PS3 is the only one I like. Though I only got one game for it this year, Uncharted Drakes Fortune, I also downloaded GT5 Prologue.

The real thing to look at is that PS3 sold 4 times as many consoles as compared to Oct.

It will be interesting to see the Xbox vs PS3 numbers in DEC. see if PS3 can close the gap or outsell xbox

Main reason is over tha past month, they dropped to 399, and then for 459 you get a bundle pack with couple games and movies and your choice of 5!! of course there gonna sell a **** ton all fo a second

halo 3 isnt that great, it was cool for like 3 weeks then died. it almost lasted as long as most peoples x-box's lasted in general. luckily i didnt buy one. hey atleast they got a warranty so they can wait a few months for a new one.

I played both ps3 and xbox 360 back to back many times, and I prefer the ps3 slightly. XBOX 360 still has the edge game-wise, but ps3 has some sick newly released titles.

I'm getting the PS3.

I haven't played Halo 3. I don't consider myself a "gamer" so to speak, just the occasional FPS game player..i.e. GTA, Scarface, 007 and the like. Hence, the X-Box is not for me, as I do not spend my week ends playing games.

The PS3 is more fit for someone like me, an occasional gamer, who also likes to watch movies, especially in hi-def. The pS3 already comes with an excellent blu-ray player. So it would fit my needs.

The Wii is also stricly gamers, but seems to target the younger crowd with "cuter" games, like mario race, bowling, etc. It reminds me too much of Sony's Eye-Toy, which was the same concept

Point taken, but look at the new face of Nintendo. I mean, at least we got Fire Emblem, Metroid Prime 3, Resident Evil 4 and UC, Project HAMMER if that ever comes out, Red Steel (I have it and it's def. not a kids game), and last, but the greatest of the gorey-not kiddie games to come out in Feb. No More Heroes.

See that's the thing.... you just can't assume that EVERYONE will like Halo 3, Gears of War etc.

Just like not EVERYONE will like GT4 or racing games....

Some people like shoot them up, some people like Zelda, some people like racing. Yet some people like Mario....

If Halo was really the "end all be all " of video games, why are Wii's and PS3's still selling?

At first the xbox 360 was overall the best bang for your buck, but since Sony came to it senses and lowered it's price, the PS3 is the better choice (system wise). Game wise the 360 destorys the PS3. I'm tired of hearing "wait for GT4 or MGS" . Who knows, once those games are released they my be flaw like hell, never know until they are released, right!?! That's like saying the 2011 Civic is going to be the **** today How they hell do you know?

So if you gotta have it now, get a 360, if you're willing to wait for "big" releases get a PS3

All games that took over a year to debut on the 360 system besides PGR3.

The ps3 just marked a 1 year anniversary.

Ninja Gaiden was a good game, not GOTY but a great game to play
Resistance Fall of Man is still up there

Racing wise there havent been any PS3 specific games to run with Forza or PGR YET. But GT5 will take care of all of them IMO.

Heavenly sword was one of the best games i have played in a long time. Great graphics, storyline, game play, etc.

I think the best game that has come out that is going completely unnoticed is Uncharted: Drakes Fortune.

The graphics are INCREDIBLE. The game is a solid 20 chapters and it doesnt get boring. Great array of weapons, it has that TOMB Raider/Indiana Jones feel to it. IMO that is the Game of the Year. Its up there with GOW.

You guys are still comparing apples and oranges. PS3 has released solid games every week since Black Friday. Unreal Tournament 3 is now out and im waiting ot see the buzz on it.

Xbox has had a 1 year + jump on PS3. Lets have this discussion a year from now, or 6 months, hell 3 months from now when GT5 and DMC4 is out.

dont even get me started on bioshock that games the epitome of incredibly stupid, and no gears of war had nothing on resistance, yeah thats right i said resistance was better than that game. like i said to the last xbox guy, ide rather have a ps3 with no games, than a raggedy xbox with website and fanboy proclaimed games of the year. (cause it seems that xbox has had SO many games of the year but yet cant there only be ONE game of the year?) and the reason for that is because ide have more fun playing with my ps3's settings than i would have with anything an xbox can offer.

i got my son a wii for christmas its awesome i actually like playing it and i dont really like video games.i think the wii is the best system nintendo ever made.
