is skype still free? that was THE best for prank calling, and you can invite people to listen in too, great times.
Coolcat has Scat... not sure if it's the same.
I got it but rarely use it. Got a couple friend from Europe that use it to communicate with her family. The IM is free but the phone calls cost money.

I use ventrillo... but then again I'm a game dork and we all hope on vent to do voice chat with the guild..... but you can set up your own little server on ventrillo and talk to people.. and it be free.

I have it but haven't used in a yr since we have VOIP. Worked pretty good.
