Where to go fishing
ok so a few of my friends and i decided we were gonna go fishing tomorrow. What im wondering is where is a good spot to go. I know lake lanier is having drout issues so probably not there so where else is there. I live in lawrenceville, and were porbably only willing to drive about an hour out. O and is it even legal to fish in lake lanier now with the drout and everything? thanksreps for those that help!!

west point lake was good when i use to go.
but none of those places r remotely close to you
o and we arent using a boat we will probably just chill on the side of the lake/river or whatever

west point is cool. the reservoir in covginton has fish but usually small ones. beautiful place though. good place just to enjoy the sport.

get off Alcovy Rd exit.(exit 92 or 94) its after exit 90. make left off exit. after you pass Dekalb tec Campus it will be on your left. in covington you arent supposed to bring beer. but we always do and i have seen the patrol cop come through once. he never stays or gets out the car. just makes sure there is no VISIBLE alcohol.
they have grills and picnic benches.

theres a small lake on beaver ruin we always catch decent sized bass / catfish lol... it really a legit lake, so anything goes u can bring whatever... go rifle fishing lolol
the catfish start biting at night, just tie some line to a tree and throw it out lol and then continue fishing, by the end of hte night either the tree will fall over or you'll catch a big one.
but yeah its a nice chill spot
be careful theres water moccasins though.

on beaver ruin... you just see a gate on the left side and pass it and the next turn is a little mini... parking spot? type thing on the side of the road, it can fit like 3 cars... so yeah park in there and walk down the sidewalk to the lake.
mapquest is getting inaccurate these days

For the price you can buy tackle and bait for I will be sitting at captain d's eating a combo meal for less than 7.00 and not having to hunt for my food!
were not gonna eat the fish we planned on fishing then red lobster or something after lol
