How is the zoo? I was thinking of taking my girl there, but I was a little hesitant to drive all that way if it sucked....

    ehh... save your gas money.

The animals are all lonely-looking and there is a lot of concrete. I guess that they may have bee doing some maintenence or something, because most of the exhibits had all the water drained out of the animals living area. looked kinda crappy- but I sure it looks better with the water in there. It was friggin hot too, so most of the animals were tucked in a corner of their area either sleeping or staying cool.

It makes a nice side trip if you are already in Birmingham, but I would not drive all the way over there to see it.

    ahh finally some responds!

Trip was pretty fun. I went over there on a "Field Trip " with my Advanced Painting class @ KSU to the Birmingham Museum of Art. Its a long drive over there so our carpool group wanted to do some more than just go to the museum- so we made a side trip to the Zoo. We also ate at the Mellow Mushroom in Birmingham. It made for a nice day trip-- the Museum is FREE and the Zoo is only $11 to get in, so it was cheap too. Thanks for asking!

Its a Minolta Z1 that I shoot in Manual Mode... It takes a little longer, but I think the pics come out nicer.
