    ?
Research and design. Springs can actually be made VERY close to high-end brands specs but it's the dampers that set the kits at different price points apart. This is usually due to the materials and assembly of the dampers. *Most* kits below the $1,000 mark will have compromise, it will handle on rails but be rough, it can be comfortable but be soft etc.

One of the exceptions is Ground Control and Koni. The problem is you have to do you "own" customizing (GC/Eibach springs come in 50lb increments) to come up with the best setup and buying multiple sets of springs is a costly way to get the ride and handling balance correct.

I agree, Skunk 2 is not anything to get excited about. It's kind of general to say that Tein is "loose". But if you mean softer the kits like Basic and Super Street tend to have lower spring rates as they are most always on street cars. Comparable D2s for an A32 will have a spring rate of 9/7 while the Basics will go with a more "streetable" 7/6.

By loose I mean low spring rates and not stiff enough.

If you want to do it big get kw or bilstein. I don't know if they make it for your application but they make quality products and back them.

Or get real coilovers like Tein, Koni, etc where they have the shock and everything not just a adjustable sleeve

the omnipower coilovers are fairly well priced for what you get. you can always get non-adjustable dampening rate coilovers for around $200 less.....

^^^ Agreed, Sachs also makes great dampers.

Applications for the Maxima are slim with JIC/Tein/Boss-Chen/Progress being the best.
