I have the first volume of the manga. It's like violent, bloody, b-rated porn. I caught the premiere of the anime at AWA this past weekend. It looks promising.

Best scene of the manga was when the young girl was crushed to death and her blood was used at a bath for one of the villains.

Well, after checking out the first couple caps of the anime and reading the manga, I must say that I'm more happy with the manga. The anime follows a different storyline altogether and I just can't get into it as much. The comic is more bloody and seems to explore more of the story. So far in the manga we have the Witchblade coming into being, a sexaholic girl friend whom I expect very bad things to happen to, a 20-30yr. old bad guy, a <16 looking bad girl, and one very hot scene where a girl is crushed to death to have her blood used as a bath.

One thing I don't understand, is why the Witchblade in the manga is composed of tentacles that wrap around the girl's body to form the armor/outfit. I'm pretty sure it wasn't always like that. Anyway, from what I've seen so far, Manga > Anime
